Banyan Tree Mayakoba: Lagoon & Sunset Rooftop Pool Villa

What Made This Balcony a Banger?

Privacy. A rooftop plunge pool. Sunsets. And two hanging chairs that made leaving feel like a questionable decision.

I stayed in the Lagoon & Sunset Rooftop Pool Villa at Banyan Tree Mayakoba, and this is exactly what I mean when I say the outdoor space is part of the vacation.

The villa ha two stories, but upstairs? That’s where I wanted to be!

The Privacy Understood the Assignment

Having your own pool is one thing. Feeling like you can actually enjoy it without an audience? That’s the good stuff!

The wood screening and roof structure tucked the rooftop terrace away, making it feel especially private. Boats could pass along the lagoon below, but from up there, I felt comfortably sheltered from view.

Room to lounge. Room to float. Room to forget whatever was on the itinerary!

Sunset Had Other Plans for My Evening

‍ You know that moment when you’re supposed to start getting ready, but the sky starts showing off?

Yeah. That.

Watching the sunset from this rooftop was one of my favorite parts of the stay. With the greenery stretching out ahead and my own little retreat behind me, there wasn’t much motivation to be anywhere else.

The Banger Verdict

For me, the combination of privacy, rooftop lounging, and sunsets made this villa worth talking about.

This wasn’t a balcony I stepped onto just to take a picture. This was a “what if we just spend the rest of the evening up here?” kind of space.
